In this interview, Laura Gentry discusses living in St. Thomas and Overton, Nevada. She discusses the development of the Overton and Gold Butte areas of Nevada as well as the people involved in mining in these areas.

On March 2, 1977, Neil C. Dalmas interviewed teacher Howard Heckethorn, (born on September 14th, 1922 in St. George, Utah) at Red Rock Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada. This interview offers an overview of early education in Nevada. Mr. Heckethorn also discusses Stewart Ranch, Howard Hughes and the Hughes Site, and the migration of the Mormons to the Las Vegas area.

On April 1, 1976, Frank Vivirito interviewed John E. Jeffrey (born July 20th, 1938, in Sioux City, Iowa) about his life in Southern Nevada. Jeffrey discusses his occupational history and the disparity of work conditions and opportunities for Black and Mexican workers in the Henderson plant.
