Valerie Pida Trust Records

Abstract

The Valerie Pida Trust Records (1987-1993) are comprised of records documenting efforts by Edward "Ted" Quirk, an attorney and a board member of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Foundation, to establish a trust for Valerie Pida, a UNLV student who had battled Hodgkin's lymphoma since the age of thirteen. Pida was a student at UNLV from 1985 to 1991 and was a cheerleader for the Runnin' Rebels basketball team. The records include correspondence, newspaper clippings, financial statements, and receipts that document the establishment and activities of the foundation, which operated until 1993.

Abstract

The Cindy Coletti Papers are comprised primarily of magazine and newspaper articles, and promotional brochures from approximately 1978 to 2017 about custom home designer Cindy Coletti and her company, Sun West Custom Homes, that was established in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1989. The collection also includes commendations for Coletti from the governor of Nevada and the Nevada congressional delegation for her accompishments as a small business owner. Also included are some promotional brochures and a digitized scrapbook portfolio of custom homes designed by Coletti's previous design company, El Rancho West.

Description

Exterior of the Pair-O-Dice nightclub, located on Highway 91 in Las Vegas, between 1931 and 1938. 'Nite Club' and 'Dine & Dance' are painted on the front wall, and the name of the club can be partially seen on the building's roof. The building's façade is finished in the Spanish Colonial Revival style.
