The Helen J. Stewart Photographs depict the Stewart Family from approximately 1860 to 1950. The photographs primarily depict Helen J. Stewart and her children as well as the Stewart Ranch (also know as the Las Vegas Ranch) in Southern Nevada. The photographs include the early Las Vegas, Nevada town site, landscapes of Southern Nevada and the American Southwest, mines and mining camps, railroads and railroad workers, the Las Vegas Fort (also known as the Old Mormon Fort), hotels and early businesses in Las Vegas, Native Americans and Native American artifacts, and postcards.

Sowder worked as a test director for the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in affiliation with the Nevada Test Site.

Campbell was affiliated with the Nevada Test Site as he was attached to the BuMedUnitOne as a junior hospitalman for the United States Navy in the Bio Medical Unit.

Peluaga was enlisted in the United States Air Force.
Peluaga was a shifter walking boss miner in affiliation with the Nevada Test Site. Peluaga had previously been employed as a sheepherder, truck driver, cowboy, bartender, and race car driver.

John Frederick Campbell was born on July 1, 1943 in La Jolla, California. Campbell has four children: Brandi, Kimberly, Johnna, and Keawe'.
Campbell was an engineer and mining superintendent for Reynolds Electric and Engineering Company (REECo) and as a government employee at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) for a combined 27 years. He was involved in the planning and construction of many tunnels that were used for atomic testing.
