On photo sleeve: "Celia in 1931. At site of Federal building." The Foley Federal Building is located at 300 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, Nevada 89101. In October 2005, the Clark County Courts, consisting of the Eighth Judicial District Court and the Las Vegas Township Justice Court, were relocated from the Foley Federal Building to the Regional Justice Center located at 200 South Third Street, Las Vegas, Nevada and the Family Courts and Services Center, located at 601 N. Pecos, Las Vegas. The Foley Federal Building now houses the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada.

Description

Bar inside the Stardust with bartenders behind the counter and two people, possibly bar patrons or servers, stand on the other side. To the right, it looks like the Keno area of the casino (see Image 0024 pho024182). A row of small bar tables and chairs line the left wall that has an intricate design. The bar sits in the center of the room and has many black and green barstools around the counter. The color photograph was taken before the casino was renovated in the mid 1970s. Members of the Culinary Workers Union 226, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 1780, Teamsters of America Local 995, and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 501 AFL-CIO march on the Las Vegas Strip in solidarity on December 05, 1991. Images show people setting up for the march during the day and marching at night. Participants carry signs and banners, including "Conquering the Frontier," and are accompanied by floats. Culinary Union secretary-treasurer Jim Arnold and others make speeches from a platform decorated with posters. Multiple casinos can be seen in the background.Arrangement note: Series I. "Desert Aces" fatal plane crash: video

Description

Local news reports on a fatal plane crask during a simulated"dog fight". Wayne Pollack (NTSB Investigator) provided some information about the crash and status of the plane prior to crash. Interview with witness of the crash, and speculation about why the plane crashed is discussed. Footage of the crash site are shown, and information about the victim's families are also shared. Second segment discusses the identities of the two victims, and states the FAA is continuing the investigation. Third segment also reports on the identities of the victims, and state it is still under investigation. Desert Aces, the company, does not comment. Culinary Workers Union strikers rally day and night in front of the Frontier Hotel and Casino on September 21, 1991. One unidentified individual is seen being detained by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Signs include: "Frontier unfair to Teamsters Local Union 995," "Frontier violates federal laws," "Culinary Workers Union Local 226 (AFL-CIO), Bartenders Union Local 165 (AFL-CIO) protest unfair labor practices."
