Description

The tape features footage of President Bill Clinton's 1997 campaign fundraiser at the home of Brian and Myra Greenspun. Footage shows Bob Stupak meeting and chatting with the President while having his photo taken. Phyllis McGuire meeting and talking with the President. Later, Stupak converses with Nevada Governor Bob Miller and first lady Sandy Miller. The President's remarks were partly recorded from the back of the room where the press core were allowed to be during part of the remarks. After the President's remarks, the footage shows many of the attendees leaving the tent, including Senator Harry Reid, Landra Reid, Phil Satre, Claudine Williams, Kitty Rodman, Brooke Shields, Dallas Huan, Senator Richard Bryan, Bonnie Bryan, and others. Tape shows views of the Greenspun house as well as the tent set up for the fundraising event. The footage is low quality and handheld, and is being captured by someone conversing and receiving directions from Stupak. Original media VHS, color, aspect ratio 4 x 3, frame size 720 x 486. Scope and Contents

The California Pictures Corporation series (approximately 1919-1965) consists of records pertaining to the company's film production and corporate operations. Film-related records depict the production side of the 1947 film The Sin of Harold Diddlebock, as well as the initial filming of the 1950 Hughes Production film, Vendetta, which Preston Sturges initially directed and produced. Other film-related materials include production logs, actor and writer contracts, scripts, and photographic prints relating to the two films. The corporate records include publicity, financial, and legal materials detailing the creation, management, and dissolution of California Pictures.

Abstract

The collection is comprised of sixty-four black-and-white digital photographs of Holocaust survivors who live in Las Vegas, Nevada. The photographs were taken by Lyn Robinson in 2012 for a photographic exhibit, the Wall of Hope. The permanent exhibit is on display at the Sperling Kronberg Mack Holocaust Resource Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Abstract

The Thomas T. Beam Engineering Complex Photographs (1988, 2006) mainly contains photographs and negatives of Building B of the Thomas T. Beam Engineering Complex construction in 2006. Photographs were taken by David Emerson who served positions within the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as Dean of the College of Science, Math, and Engineering; Dean of the College of Sciences; and as emeritus professor. Other materials in this collection include photographs of Lied Library and a photograph of Building A of the Thomas T. Beam Engineering Complex from 1988. The photograph includes a personal note to Emerson by Tate Snyder/Kittrell Garlock Architects, the architectural firm responsible for designing and building the Thomas T. Beam Engineering Complex.

Oral history interview with David Sklansky conducted by Claytee D. White on October 19, 2022 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. Sklansky arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1967. While in Las Vegas, he recalls working as the mathematical consultant to Bob Stupak for many years where he developed some of the games used in Stupak's Vegas World Casino. He also taught poker and gambling, and was entered in The Griffin Book which contained names and photographss of people who found ways to win in the casino by legal means.
