Abstract
The Clark County Economic Opportunity Board (CCEOB), (1962-1973) was the regional legal body responsible for receiving and administering funds in Las Vegas, Nevada allocated under the Economic Opportunity Act, a part of the Johnson's Administration's War on Poverty Program. The collection concentrates on the high funding years from 1965 until the early 1970s, when the CCEOB disbursed funds to a variety of community action programs and organizations. Records are administration and project oriented and include meeting minutes, correspondence, financial and committee reports, personnel policies, job descriptions, funding information, appointments, program officer listings, as well as project applications and program descriptions.

On March 3, 1980, Frank Fusco interviewed Elissa Miller (born October 29th, 1935 in San Francisco, California) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In this interview, Mrs. Miller talks about her life in Virginia City and Reno, Nevada. She discusses the growth in Reno and the problems that came from that. She also speaks about living life in Virginia City, a much smaller town in Nevada. She talks about the people who live and work there, as well as some of the things the town is known for, such as the International Camel and Ostrich Races that are held annually.

This interview covers family life, education, employment and the growth and development of Las Vegas. Helen attended Las Vegas High School and then went on to work at the Las Vegas High School for many years, an accomplishment that she is extremely proud of. During the interview she also mentions the Boulder Dam, the Old Ranch, and the Westside.
