Description

Two Anglo women and three Indian women. The Indian women are seated on wicker chairs. The Indian woman at left turned away from the camera; second Indian woman in center, back row, hides her face with her arm. The photograph was possibly taken at Manse Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. A Post-it note identifies the Indian woman in front, right, as "probably Maude Yount." This is a different woman from the Maude Yount identified on photo Image ID:0096 0020.

From the Harvey's Hotel and Casino Postcard Collection (PH-00367) -- Inscription with postcard reads: "A collage postcard of Sierra Sid's featuring all of Nevada's famous gaming action, 24 hour coffee shop, round-up steakhouse, home of the only 18 wheeler in captivity, plenty of slots, the guns of Elvis, and the World's largest collection of colt commemoratives on display at Sierra Sids. 310 rooms, bridal suites with king size waterbeds and beautiful pool area. Casino fun, great buffets, fine dining in our steakhouse. Union 76 24-hour fuel."

Description

From the Nye County, Nevada Photograph Collection (PH-00221) -- Series IV. Pahrump, Nevada -- Subseries IV.D. Wiley Family. Mrs. Brown and her son Steve originally lived at the Yount home on the ranch, but when Roland Wiley took possession, they moved to a nearby area in which a spring flowed and considerable vegetation was present. Wiley referred to the area as Dora's Place. In the 1970s, a flash flood destroyed the area, washing away the soil and trees and eliminating the spring.

Records Family. From left, Hank Richards with Ann Redelsperger and State Senator Ken Redelsperger at the dedication of the All -Purpose Building, Amargosa Valley Nye County, Nevada, Nevada, November 2, 1984. Records was asked to be the Dedicator at the ceremony because he was the first to arrive in the valley and take advantage of the "Desert Entry Program", and with his brother Robert, he "knew what years people came".
