Album contains Wieking family photos, photos of Hoover Dam construction, Black Canyon, ferries on the Colorado River, ruins of Fort Callville, Englers Camp, Las Vegas Ranch, Mt. Charleston, deserts in Nevada and Arizona, Hoover Dam laboratory workers, the first train in Railroad Pass, and snow in Las Vegas. Also included are one color postcard titled "The Grand Canyon Bridge, Arizona," and prints of two poems, "Mornin' On The Desert" and "Nevada" (authors unknown). The first sheet, form 30, a work order authority for extensions and additions to the water supply line on the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company's property, includes a description of the work and the necessity for the work, with a total estimated expenditure. The second sheet, form 30-1, a work order authority with detailed estimated expenditures, includes an itemized list of the quantity and cost of parts and labor. Forms are accompanied by a map, referenced below, that includes colored outlines of existing and proposed facilities.
Oral history interview with H. Joy Razy conducted by Andrew Gordon on March 17, 1978 for the Ralph Roske Oral History Project on Early Las Vegas. In this interview, Razy discusses the construction of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam as well as the changes in city infrastructure such as water supply and roads. Lastly, Razy discusses the divorce and gambling industries of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Oral history interview with Ray M. Cutright conducted by himself on April 22, 1981 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. Cutright talks about his experiences in operating a boat that carried both tourist passengers and workers to and from the site of the Hoover Dam. He also discusses a few specific experiences, including what it was like navigating the river.

The photographs include politicians and engineers investigating the Colorado River for the future sight of the Hoover (Boulder) Dam in Black Canyon; Hoover Dam workers and construction; the towns of Goodsprings, Beatty, and Indian Springs in Nevada; the Grand Canyon in Arizona; and Mount Charleston in Nevada. The items described include black-and-white photographic prints, postcards, and negatives; items listed are photographic prints unless otherwise specified.

This series of photographs documents the historic water overflow at Hoover Dam as seen from the Arizona side of the dam. Taken in August of 1983, this overflow marked the first time the spillways were used during a flood. After initially being filled, the spillways were tested once in August of 1941.
