The New York-New York Hotel/Casino opened on January 3, 1997, and is a MGM Resorts International property. It is located on the Tropicana-Las Vegas Boulevard intersection with the MGM Grand Las Vegas, the Excalibur, and Tropicana Las Vegas. The New York-New York was the first casino on the Las Vegas Strip to be a “city themed” resort and had cost $485 million to build. The hotel/casino was modeled after the New York City skyline and includes the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and Ellis Island Immigrant Receiving Station.
