The New York-New York Hotel/Casino opened on January 3, 1997, and is a MGM Resorts International property. It is located on the Tropicana-Las Vegas Boulevard intersection with the MGM Grand Las Vegas, the Excalibur, and Tropicana Las Vegas. The New York-New York was the first casino on the Las Vegas Strip to be a “city themed” resort and had cost $485 million to build. The hotel/casino was modeled after the New York City skyline and includes the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and Ellis Island Immigrant Receiving Station. Also included are replicas of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.
