Schwartz, Milton I., 1921-2007

Milton I. Schwartz was born in 1921 and was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1946 to help build the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. After moving back to New York for a while, Schwartz returned to Las Vegas in 1971 to found Valley Hospital and serve as its board chairman. He was involved in many businesses in Las Vegas and worked in real estate development. He also owned and operated a cable television company called MISCO, Inc. and was a partner and director of Yellow, Checker, and Star cab companies.

Jeanette "Jean" M. Crooks (née Mactaggart) was born May 20, 1924, in Richmond, California. Jean married Lawrence on August 8, 1947, and had two children: James Lawrence and Kathryn Jean. Lawrence Crooks works for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).

Crooks obtained a bachelor of arts the the University of California located in Berkeley, California; she also took one year of teacher training at California State at Hayward.

Crooks is a teacher and substitute teacher in Oakland, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cecile Dotson Crowe was born October 17, 1911 in Millville, Utah. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1923 with her family. At the time, the town was a very small and friendly railroad town where everyone knew everyone else. After high school, Crowe went to the University of Nevada, married her husband Charles Gerald, and raised her children and grandchildren. She also worked for the Chamber of Commerce and on the Boulder Canyon project.
