Aquilina, Nick C., 1937-

Nick C. Aquilina was born June 10, 1937 in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Aquilina obtained a bachelor of arts degree in scoiology from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania (1958). Aquilina was part of the United States Army from 1960 to 1962.

Aquilina began working at the Nevada Test Site in 1962; joined AEC from January 1967 to 1976; Idaho National Engineering Lab (INEL) from 1976 to 1987; Manager of the Nevada Operations Office from 1987 to 1994, when he then retired.

Collins, Peter, 1945-

British academic Peter Collins is an author, lecturer, and consultant on gambling and the gaming industry. A graduate of the Universities of Oxford and London, he founded and directed the National Centre for the Study of Gambling at the University of Cape Town in South Africa between 1995 and 1999. In 2000, he relocated to England, where he served as director of the Centre for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming at the University of Salford, Manchester. In 2002, he was appointed Professor of Public Policy in the university's Salford Business School.

Fayle, Anna Louise Trapnell, 1908-1996

Anna Trapnell was born in 1908. She married Leonard Fayle in 1932 while residing in California, and the couple moved to Las Vegas, Nevada after World War II. Anna was a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, and later received her master's degree in education from University of California, Berkeley. In addition to being a mother of three, Anna taught high school in Las Vegas. Anna was also an active member of numerous Las Vegas service organizations.

Paine, Alan

Alan Paine was an award-winning poet and a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born Al K. Williams on November 30, 1956, but changed his name to Alan Paine in 1991. He earned a Bachelor's of Arts in broadcast communication from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1981 and a Bachelor's of Science in counseling psychology from Brighton University in 2000. He held many jobs in the Las Vegas valley, most of them involving acting, physical education, or computer education.

DuBois, John B., 1921-

Republican Assemblyman from Clark County, Nevada John B. DuBois was born in West Point, New York on November 28, 1921. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in journalism and did his graduate work in marketing and communications at the University of Southern California. After moving to Las Vegas he was the director of Corporate Communications for Southwest Gas Corporation from 1964 to 1976.

Patterson, Lamont

Lamont Patterson (1916-1997) was a jazz columnist and Las Vegas, Nevada resident. Originally named William Patterson, he served as a press and protocol officer for the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Writing under his nickname "Lamont" Patterson, his career as a reporter and columnist began in 1939. Patterson personally knew many artists such as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, and Liberace. He died in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is buried at Palm Mortuary in Henderson, Nevada.

Friedman, Leon, 1933-2004

Leon and Norma Friedman, who were married in Pittsburg in 1957, enjoyed civic work, travel and raising their two children, Jodi and Brad. Leon kept active until his passing in 2004.
