Kwan, So Lin, 1949-

In 1990, when Tina's parents opened the Fortune Inn restaurant, seven-year-old Tina began working alongside them; they closed the restaurant in 2005. After the restaurant closed, Tina's mother, So Lin Kwan, became a dealer and her father, David Kwan, became a cook at Lily Langtry restaurant in the Golden Nugget. So Lin is the third youngest of ten children born in Quiping to a different Kwan family. So Lin's oldest sister and her brother were the first of the family to emigrate; the brother did so at twelve years of age.

Hill, Lawrence Chiu, 1972-

Lawerence "Larry" Chiu Hill is at Lawerence C. Hill and Associates. He speaks about his experiences of living in Taiwan and the processes of migrating from Taiwan during middle school to South America and eventually Corpus Christi, Texas where he would spend most of his childhood up until high school. Lawerence speaks on his father's experiences being a gaming marketer during the 90s and being heavily involved in scouting high rollers into Las Vegas casinos.

Torres-Recto, Kate, 1954-

Born in the Philippines in 1954 , Kate Torres Recto, grew up pampered as the youngest of four children and as the daughter of an aristocratic family. She recalls having maids and drivers, and she describes her mother's sense of fashion. But she also remembers how her parents raised her and her siblings to respect their elders, to be kind, and to be compassionate. In turn, as Kate raised her six children mostly as a single mother, she, too, instilled those values in them.

Fritz, Pom, 1950-

One of four children born to a farming family in Udon Thani, Thailand, Pom Fritz is a retired guest room attendant (Flamingo, Desert Inn, and Mirage) and member of Culinary Workers Union Local 226, serving the Union as committee member, shop steward, Trustee, and member of the Executive Board. Pom came to the U.S. with her second husband, an American, in 1972. After stops at Air Force bases near Sacramento and in North Carolina, she moved to Riverside, California, where her younger sister then lived.

Lloyd, Minddie (Marikha), 1965-

Born as one of four children in Manila, Philippines, Minddie and her siblings were raised by their paternal grandmother and her sisters (the Three Lolas) in the Philippines when her parents took jobs in New Jersey. After the children joined their parents, the family moved to California, where Minddie suffered abuse and subsequently lived in several foster homes and a girls' home, Olive Crest. It was through Olive Crest that Minddie met her mentors, Bruce Layne, Roy Woofter, and Thalia Dondero and came to Las Vegas in 1995, where she worked with the airlines.

FonotiSatele, Junior, 1973-

Junior starts off by tracing his life back to being born in Harbor City, California and moving to Ogden, Utah. His ethnic background as a Samoan created very strong family values such as respect for your elders, and his time in Utah was marked by spending lots of time with family. After moving back to California briefly, Junior ended up in Las Vegas when his sister needed help and ended up obtaining his degree in sociology from UNLV. After graduating, Junior briefly worked in construction before becoming a bodyguard for Floyd Mayweather for five years.

Williams, Rayshawn, 1983-

Native Las Vegan, Rayshawn Williams enlisted in USMC at age 17. Served two tours as a field radio operator (2003 - 2004) in Iraq. Was in boot camp when 9/11 occurred. Is in graduate studies at UNLV in social work and employed by TRIO.
