Scope and Contents

Oral history interview with Amy Bush-Herzer conducted by Stefani Evans and Claytee D. White on December 1, 2025 for the Game On! An Oral History of Las Vegas Sports project. In this interview, Bush-Herzer tells of her early life growing up in Tempe, Arizona where sports were a big part of her life, especially golf. She attended New Mexico State University with the help of athletic scholarships, and after graduation, Bush-Herzer worked for Tournament Players Club (TPC) Summerlin and was able to work during the PGA Tour. She later worked as an assistant coach out in Lake Las Vegas, and received a master's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). In 2007, she joined UNLV as an assistant coach and later became head coach. Bush-Herzer helped establish the UNLV Women's Golf Excellence Center. Mentoring is important to Bush-Herzer, and she concludes the interview by discussing how proud she is of her students. She is particularly excited for the 25th anniversary of the women's golf team in 2026. Digital audio available; no transcript available.
