This year’s Founders’ Day was well attended and many positive comments have been received with regard to the event. The committee members are again recognized for their hard work and commitment to making this event a success. The results of the surveys were very positive of the 24 surveys returned,. 7 responses rated the Founders’ Day luncheon as average, and the other 17 responses rated the Founders’ Day luncheon as above average. Comments from sorors regarding what they enjoyed most ranged form the guest speaker, to the food, to the entertainment, to the program, and overall everything. Suggestions for improvement included more information on the founders, try to reserve a Saturday, more seating, and table assignments. ♦Note: 1. The cost of the printing was less than projected due an error in printing the tickets on the printers part.
2.
The cost of souvenirs was less than projected; however, we only paid for a color cartridge used in the printing of the inserts for the picture frame gifts. We did not pay for paper or the black cartridge used in the printing.
3.
. The decorations utilized were from the hotel, so the only cost was for the ribbon and ivy.
The Founders’ Day Committee recommends that the $492.84 be added to the Founders’ Day budget for the Founders’ Day 2000 program.
With regard to the Founders’ Day 2000 program, the committee has already begun making plans. The date has been scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2000, at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden Nugget. The Golden Nugget requires a S200.00 deposit to reserve this date and room. We have contracted for a larger room so that we may accommodate our guests more comfortably.
Possible guest speakers for Founders’ Day 2000 are: Soror Norma White, Ms. Bernice King, Ms. Yolanda King, and a General Motors Executive.
Sorors, thank you for your unending support in the 1999 Founders’ Day luncheon.
I move that the Founders’ Day committee final report be accepted as presented with $492.84 being put back in the Founders’ Day committee budget to assist with the expenditures for next year, and that $200.00 be submitted to the Golden Nugget in order to reserve the date and room for Founders’ Day 2000.
