Present, 62 cents, based on mixed carload rate under Rule 10, Consolidated Classification No. 1; proposed, 66J^. cents per 100 lbs (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 2, 1920.) - Approved report of the Standing Rate Committee which recommends against establishment of rate above referred to. Docket No. 71.— Switching Rate, Bettendorf, la., on cars handled by D. R. I. & N. W. R. R. to their connection with the C. R. I. & P. R. R. at Davenport, la.—ALSO, Davenport, on cars handled from the connection with the C. R. I. & P. R. R. to Bettendorf, la., to be repaired. Present, 1 cent per 100 lbs., minimum $6.00 per car; proposed, $2.00 per car. (See Standing Rate Committee’ s report dated June 2, 1920.) Approved report of the Standing Rate Committee which recommends against establishment of the above charge. Docket No. 72.—Permitting stopping of carload freight in transit to partly unload or finish loading. Present, no arrangement in effect; proposed, Fennimore, Wis., to be treated as an intermediate point same as Lancaster Junction; Platteville, Wis., to be treated as an intermediate point same as Ipswich. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 2, 1920.) ' Approved recommendation of the Standing Rate Committee which contemplates inclusion of Fennimore . and Platteville, Wis., as intermediate stations in rule providing for stopping-in-transit arrangements. Effective October 25, 1920, as announced in Rate Advice No. 3. Docket No. 73.—Mining Timbers, Lagging, Mining Stulls and Poles, C. L., between points in Wisconsin and Michigan on the C. & N. W. R. R., State and Interstate. Present, minimum charge of $15.00 per car established by the U. S. Railroad Administration applies to carload shipments of Mining Timbers, Lagging, Mining Stulls and Poles between stations in Wisconsin and Michigan, State and Interstate; proposed, to amend C. & N. W. Tariffs naming distance rates to provide that the minimum charge of $16.00 per car will not apply. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 2, 1920.) Deferred until next meeting, pending decision of the Interstate Commerce Commission in the Advance Rate Case. 18 JUNE, 1920 \ I Docket No. 74.— Printed Matter, Signs and Show Cards with carload shipments of Cereal Beverages, between Chicago, Peoria, etc., and Colorado common points.- Present, Beer, Beer Tonic, Hop Tea Tonic, Hop - Tonic, Liquid Bread, Malt Ale, Malt Porter, Weiss Beer, Carbonated Beverages, non-intoxicating, Cereal Beverages, Carbonated, non-Alcoholic. Note 1: With carload shipments of Beer there may be included Printed Matter, Signs (exclusive of Electric-Signs or Electric Lighted Signs), and Show Cards at the rate applicable on the Beer. The weight of the Printed Matter, Signs and Show Cards must not exceed 2% of the total weight of the Beer. Note 2: Carload shipments "of Beer in refrigerator cars equipped with portable heaters of such construction as to safety as may be duly approved by the initial carrier, will be accepted and transported without attendants in charge. Proposed, to" amend Item 780 of W. F. T. B. Tariff No. 111-A to permit loading of Printed Matter, Signs (exclusive of Electric Signs or Electric Lighted Signs), and Show Cards at the rate applicable on the Cereal Beverage, subject to restriction that weight of Printed Matter, Signs and Show Cards will not exceed 2% of the total weight of the Cereal Beverages. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 14, 1920.) Approved report of the Standing Rate Committee, which recommends against the proposed change above referred to and also’ recommends that Item 780 of W. F. T. B. Tariff No. 111-A.be corrected by cancelling therefrom Note 1, reading as follows: NOTE 1.— With carload shipments of Beer, there may be included Printed Mattel* Signs (exclusive of Electric Signs or Electric Lighted Signs), and Show Cards, at the iate applicable on the Beer. The weight of the Printed Matter, Signs and Show Cards must not exceed 2% of the total weight of the Beer. Consolidated Classification rules as to Advertising Matter to apply. Effective October 25, 1920, as announced in Rate Advice No. 3. Docket No. 76.— Hemp Tow, C. L., Minnesota, North and South Dakota to St. Paul, Chicago and common points. Present, 4th Class rates; proposed, same as now apply on Hay. (See Standing Rate Committee’s report dated June 11, 1920.) Approved recommendation of the Standing Rate Committee as follows: That Hay rates and minimum weights be applied on Hemp Tow from Minnesota, North and South Dakota points to St. Paul, Minn., Chicago, 111., and common points. Further recommended, that Item No. 225 of W. T. L. Circular 1-0, insofar as it authorizes-minimum weight of 20,000 lbs., any size car, pn Flax Moss, Flax Tow and Shives, carloads, be amended to provide for same minimum weights as shown in Item No. 570 of W. T. L. Circular No. 1-0, namely: Cars 34 feet and undei in length, inside measurement............................................... . . .................... . ...................................... 19,000 lbs. NOTE.:—In computing charges under the above scale, fractions of an inch will be dropped, that is to say, a car 36 feet inches will be treated as a 36-foot 6-inch car.
