    bdc - Mr* Walter Bracken June 2, 1943 File Tenth Regional War Labor Board 1353 Market Street San Francisco, California Gentlemen: Referring to your letter of M a y 12, your file 1 0 P LK (W-273-8] 4379, Las Vegas Land & Water Coorany, Las Vegas, Nevada: Subsequent to the receipt of your lett r, the applica­tion of' Las Vegas Land and Water Company was discussed by Mr# Renwiok in my office with your Miss Barbara Fitzgerald w h o stated thot she would like further information with respect to salaries paid similar positions in other utility companies in Las Vegas* | p | | | l :;1 For your information X will state that we have found that the Southern Nevada Power Company pays their woman cashier-accountant #200 per month* This position is similar to that held by H e l e n Fitzgerald for w h o m we are asking an increase from $160 to $180 per month. The Southern Nevada Power Company also pays a utility m a n $10*40 a day, the duties of this man being similar to those of George Manning, water checker, for whom we arc asking an increase from $173 to $200 per month* The Onion Pacific Railroad Company pays a clerk in their yard office $180*65 per month, the duties of this clerk being quite similar to those of Miss Ila Bryan, clerk-stenographer, whose salary we are asking to be increased from $160 to $170 per month* Company are regulated by the Nevada Public Service Commission and the proposed increases would not tend to affect in any w a y what- " soever the prices of commodities sold by the later Company, to-wlt, water to the inhabitants of Las Vegas* I would very much appreciate it, therefore, if further consideration might be given to this application in order that we m y not be faced with the prospect of losing additional Yd h understand, of course, that the rates of the Water
