City Attorney Cannon advised the Commission that a bus belonging to Vegas Transit Lines had run into a fire truck at 5th and Stewart on March 12, 1954. He stated that demand had been made on Vegas Transit and they had requested that the City hold off a settlement until they had settled the personal injuries involved. Mr. Cannon stated that no settlement has been made and that the statute of limitations is about to run out. He requested that he be given authorization to file suit against Vegas Transit Lines to recover the amount of the loss which is approximately $900.00. Commissioner Bunker moved the City Attorney be authorized to file suit against Vegas Transit Lines to recover the damages to the fire truck. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 521, DEALING WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PUBLIC POUND IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE OPERATION THEREOF BY THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR FEES FOR SERVICES PERFORMED BY THE POUNDKEEPER; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Fountain and Sharp, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Fountain moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 736 be adopted.
