    OPENING OF 19TH STREET MEADOWS ADDITION TINKER BIRD RANCH Business License GAMING APPLICATION 1st Qtr. 1954 Additionals CIGARETTE APPLICATIONS 1st Qtr. 1954 New APPLICATIONS FOR FIREARMS PERMITS UPRR LAND University of Nevada IMPROVEMENTS Charleston Village Tract SUBORDINATION AGREEMENT U.S. - Nellis AF Base PROPOSED ORDINANCE Plumbing Code Amendment Commissioner Whipple moved a right-of-way he acquired for the opening of 19th Street between Fremont and Charleston Boulevard and the Building Department be instructed not to issue any building permits on this property. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, Commissioners Bunker and Sharp. Commissioner Bunker moved the Building Department be instructed to hold up permits until the street right-of-way on the O.J. Scherer Tract has been acquired. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The C ty Attorney stated that the license issued to the Tinker Bird Ranch before the zone change from R-E to R-1 is now a nonconforming use. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved the Tinker Bird Ranch be allowed to carry on their business and the City Attorney to instruct Mrs. Tinker as to what can be done in this zone area. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the following gaming applications for 1st Qtr. 1954 be approved: C & L ENTERPRISES Cecil Lynch Lamin's Drug 1 slot THE HORSESHOE CASINO The Eldorado Club 128 Fremont 1 poker Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the following application for the retail sale of cigarettes and tobacco products be approved: MT. VIEW TRAILER PARK 1215 No. 5th Sutton Vending Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the following applications for Firearms Permits with the exception of State Loan and Jewelry, be approved: A. H. Commissioner Bunker moved the City Manager be instructed to contact the UPRR to see if they will donate 80 acres of land for the University of Nevada, west of the UPRR between that section and Rancho Road. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by he following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the City Attorney proceed on any action he feels is appropriate to secure a surety bond for the installation of improvements in Charleston Village Tract. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the Subordination Agreement with the United States for right-of-way at Nellis Air Force Base be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote : Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the proposed ordinance on the Plumbing Code Amend­ment be reported unfavorably. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting ay; noes, none.
