I agree.May 9, 1980 TO: DEBBY SORRENTINO - Life Editor Las Vegas Review Journal FROM: Mimi Katz, League of Women Voters RELEASE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, or THURSDAY, MAY 15 LEAGUE'S ANNUAL MEETING Officers for the year 1980-1981 will be installed at the Annual Meeting of the League of Women Voters scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the University Center for Religion & Life, 4765 Brussels Avenue (just south of the University). Progress reports of the League's activities throughout the year, as well as an informative film on low-level radiation will be part of the program. The film entitled "So You Want To Be In Pictures" will be presented by Alice Locicero, Anne Zorn and Marion Sumners, who have been researching material on the effects of radiation. As a special feature of the afternoon a pre?sentation will be made to a League member for her outstanding work in the ... community. The League will be celebrating its 60th year of existence. It was originally proposed in 1920 by delegates from the National American Womens Suffrage Association, and since its inception it has become apparent that the League's legislative goals were not exclusively women's issues, but aimed at education for all. All League members and anyone interested in becoming a member will be most welcomed at this annual meeting. More information can be obtained by calling the League office at 385-7084,
