It is regarded now as much a French national institution as the Eiffel Tower on the Louvre.

While the “Folies” is noted most for its compatible offering of enticing females, spectacular staging and exciting specialty acts, it has also fostered its share of stars...Charlie Chaplin, Maurice Chevalier, Fernandel, Patachou, Pavlova, Mistingueff and Josephine Baker.

So successful has been this “show of shows” that such offerings as the Ziegfeld Folies, the Rockettes, the Lido de Paris and the Casino de Paris all can trace their ancestral beginnings to the fabulous “Folies Bergeres”
