(This reference is to the massacre of the Hernandez couple and their caravan leader in 1844, and the consequent revenge for the raid taken by Kit Carson and Alex Godey, guides for Fremont in 1844. It is not known if the site pictured is indeed the grave of the murdered New Mexicans), October 1967
