    1919Oct. 9th A regular meeting of the Goldfield Woman's Club was held at the Club House Thursday afternoon Oct. 9th. The Pres. Mrs. Ernest called the meeting to order. This was the first meeting that has been held since last November. The Influenza epidemic put a stop to meetings of all kinds for weeks and no meeting was called again during the remainder of the year. The Sec. reported the meeting held on Nov. 14th. The treasurer being absent on account of illness, no report. Mrs. Fitzgerald, chairman of the House-wife Committee reported 34 "house-wives" completed and turned over to the Junior Red Cross, she also reported that four woolen quilts, made under the chairmanship of Mrs. Robert Clarke were give to the "Old Clothes Drive" for the Red Cross. A letter from Antwerpen Belgie [i.e., Belgium] was read. It contained the grateful thanks and good wishes from the mother of a little war sufferer to whom the Club had sent relief three years ago.
