4and who has worked on the Ranch for about two years and in case it was necessary for me to go away I could arrange with him to look after things. If you send me word that you decide to close the deal I think I had best put one or two men to work at once until someone comes to take charge. [It] might be necessary for me to be in Salt Lake when Mrs Stewart and Whittemore meet to fix up final arrangements. My wife was called to Chicago Nov. 10th to look after some business her folks have in court but the case has been postponed until Dec 15th and may be further delayed in the mean time my children are alone with a strange servant girl and on their account I would like to go home for a short time providing I can arrange matters here satisfactory which I think can be done now since I have done everything that can be done here and I am glad it is done and if it was not for the water falling so far short of the reported estimate I would feel well enough satisfiedYours trulyWm McDermott
