Let me carry you back for a few moments to some past Nevada mining history to 1859-79 to the Comstock!The Comstock Lode stands out today as one of the greatest mineral-bearing zones ever discovered.Of seemingly indeterminable width and miles in length. The values started from the very surface and cut down through the earth like huge knife-blades, getting richer, the deeper they were worked. After fifty years of continuous production the Comstock is still one of the most prolific producers the world has ever seen.Stocks in companies operating on the Comstock returned their holders Great Fortunes! They advanced thousands of per cent on the market and returned thousands of per cent in Dividends!Nothing else like it was ever known before in the history of the world and nothing else like it has been known since!Is it any wonder, then, that Nevada has such a mighty lure for the mining man? Is it any wonder that ever since then a horde of prospectors have swarmed Nevada's hills, mountains and deserts seeking a counterpart of the Comstock?In this search we have found Bullfrog, Tonopah, Searchlight, Hawthorne, Goldfield and others each with a huge production record but not quite what we expected sought for hoped for tremendous producers, yes. But not a Comstock.You have probably heard how Gilbert was discovered. This LATEST and what we expect to prove, the GREATEST of Nevada's Great history-making camps. This, we believe, is at last that for which we have searched so long ANOTHER COMSTOCK!Briefly many years ago an old prospector found a very rich piece of "float" in this district. He had it assayed and to his amazement it showed values of EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS TO THE TON!He took up the search for the ledge from whence it came. During his life he searched in vain. On his deathbed he is said to have confided his great secret to a friend a man named Gilbert.And, during his lifetime Gilbert searched in vain. His sons took up the search. The search for the "Rich Ledge" became a fable in Nevada.And then as oftimes occurs under like conditions just when the Gilbert Boys had made their "last stand" on a group of claims which they had "dubbed" The Last Hope THEY FOUND RICH ORE!When the news was flashed A MAD STAMPEDE ENSUED. I was among the first to get there.I studied geological formations of the district carefully. I panned and dug here and there. I followed out-croppings. I met George Harma he had been doing likewise.He led me to a narrow gorge only a few feet wide. Penetrating this and continuing on through, he showed me a sight that set my pulses beating wildly.There right in front of my eyes from 20 to 60 feet wide and way across the hills in length ran a great quartz ledge!And, then and there I told myself "Here is THAT for which many, many men had sought so long ANOTHER COMSTOCK WHEN DEVELOPED!"Quickly work started. We began digging and developed our "Glory Hole." We uncovered values so utterly immense as to almost challenge the credulity of the average individual.One sample assayed $50,000 per ton another $96,000, and so on.These, of course, were picked samples. If we had any considerable amount of THAT kind of ore, we never would have organized this company!We would have dug out a ton or two of it, and that would have given us more than enough capital to develop the mine without letting anyone else in on it!
