The members of this firm were early pioneers of the Goldfield district. All the vicissitudes and varying fortunes of the mining camp have entered into their experience. The progressive town of Columbia owes its existence mainly to their efforts, in connection with less than half a dozen other progressive citizens. Coburn & Jarvis lost heavily in the fire of July 15, 1905, which swept away their property valued at $38,-000. In the year intervening they have recouped their losses, and, never deviating from their faith in the future of Columbia, are doing business at the "old stand."
