Scope and Contents

The Freestanding restaurant subseries (1901-2007) contains materials from restaurants in Las Vegas, Nevada that are not associated with hotels and casinos, otherwise known as freestanding restaurants. The Las Vegas area includes neighborhoods and municipalities inside the Greater Las Vegas Valley, including Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Paradise. Materials in this subseries include menus, wine lists, event programs, and press releases. Of note are menus from culinary events hosted by by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) College of Hotel Administration, now the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality. Restaurant menus include historic Las Vegas restaurants such as Andre's French Restaurant, the Alpine Village Inn, and Fong's Garden. This subseries also contains hospital menus from Sunrise Hospital.
