Biographical / Historical Note
The Claridge Hotel opened in 1930 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The hotel is located on Atlantic City’s boardwalk and was built by John McShain. In 1977, the Claridge Hotel was sold to Claridge Associates, in partnership with Del E. Webb Corporation, and, in 1981, Del E. Webb Corporation bought out Claridge Associates’ share of the hotel. Claridge Hotel was then renamed to Del Webb’s Claridge Hotel and Casino, but later became known as just the Claridge. In 2014, TJM Properties bought and took ownership of the Claridge, and in 2016 joined the Radisson Hotel Group. As of 2020, the Claridge remains in operation.

In 2019 as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Miguel Dominguez compiled the materials from multiple sources that included subject files. Miguel Dominguez wrote the finding aid and entered the data in ArchivesSpace.
