After the merging of Sahara Resorts and Sahara Casinos Partners in 1993, the company was renamed Sahara Gaming Corporation. In 1995, Lowden sold the Sahara Hotel and Casino to William Bennett and in the following year Lowden renamed the company Santa Fe Gaming Corporation.
