Biographical / Historical Note
Congregation Ner Tamid (CNT) was founded in 1974 by a group of families who wanted to establish a Reform synagogue in Las Vegas, Nevada. The congregation originally met in homes, churches, and at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. High Holy Days were held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In the 1980s, they built a synagogue on Emerson Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada. CNT has actively worked with other local synagogues, churches, and organizations to provide charitable services for the community. CNT also has active programs including Interfaith programs on Chanukkah, Passover, and the High Holy Days. In 2001 the CNT Board of Trustees embarked on a capital campaign to build a new campus and learning center. In 2005 CNT created the Greenspun Campus for Jewish Life, Learning, and Spiritual Renewal. On February 25, 2007 CNT opened their new location on 55 N. Valle Verde Drive in Henderson, Nevada.
