Abstract
The Jack Leavitt Collection on Las Vegas Lands and Real Estate (1968-1981) contains real estate property indexes for Clark County, Nevada, as well as an aerial survey of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada. The thirty-one indexes include alphabetical lists of home owners, their addresses, and maps of urban and private land parcels focusing on the cities of Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada.

Biographical / Historical Note
Jack Leavitt was a land surveyor, engineer, and real estate developer in Southern Nevada who worked mainly in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leavitt was born on March 9, 1924 in Bunkerville, Nevada to Mike and Estella Leavitt. Leavitt graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1942 and attended the Heald Engineering College in San Francisco, California. After leaving college, Leavitt acquired work from an engineering firm in Nevada, but later quit to work for the Pioneer Title Insurance and Trust Company in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was employed for ten years.
In 1960, Leavitt operated his own real estate company, expanding it to become one of the largest real estate firms in Nevada before he sold the business and changed his concentration to real estate brokerage and land appraisals. Civically, Leavitt had memberships in the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping, the American Society of Appraisers, the Appraisal Institute, and the Reserve Officers Association. Leavitt died on April 17, 2005, at the age of 81.
