Scope and Contents Note

The Henry Wieking Papers (1932-1935) consist of personal recollections of Wieking who was foreman at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Concrete Testing Laboratory. The agency was charged with screening the gravel that was used to make the concrete for Hoover Dam. The papers also contain daily journal pages, newspaper clippings, and a BLM memorandum. Wieking writes about the lab established at the Las Vegas Fort in the early 1930s.
