Abstract

This collection is comprised of the legislative papers of Nevada State Assemblyman Jack Jeffrey, who represented Boulder City, part of Henderson and the Moapa Valley Nevada areas. Papers are comprised of records from the 1980-81 session of the Nevada State Legislature and contains an Appropriations Report, Springer Legislative Reports, fiscal notes, assembly and senate bills and resolutions, and Minutes from the Committee on Governmental Affairs.

Scope and Contents Note

The collection contains the Legislative Appropriations Report for the 1981 Session, the fiscal year 1979-80 and 1980-81 Spring Legislative Reports, Fiscal Notes and Assembly and Senate Bills and resolutions. There are three volumes of minutes from the committee to establish the Division of Consumer Advocacy in the office of the Attorney General along with minutes and exhibits of joint hearings with selected Senate Committees.

Biographical / Historical Note

Jack Jeffrey served in the Nevada State Assembly representing District 22, which encompasses Boulder City, part of Henderson and the Moapa Valley area. Having served previously as Henderson City Councilman and Mayor Pro tem, Jeffrey was first elected to the Assembly in 1974. While in the Assembly he chaired the Commerce Committee, and the Economic Development and Natural Resources Committee, and served on the Ways and Means, Government Affairs, Agriculture, Labor and Management, and Environment and Public Resources Committees. He also served as both majority leader and assistant minority leader of the Assembly.
