The Keith Boman Papers on the Smith Center for the Performing Arts consist of materials documenting the construction of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada from approximately 2006 to 2010. Also included are photographs showcasing the progress of the construction of the theatre, and several newsletters and pamphlets regarding the project.

Biographical / Historical Note
Dr. Keith Boman, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada is a cardiologist. He served as a trustee on the board of directors for the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation for twenty years. He worked with the Smith Center Project until it was built. As of 2019, he is the vice chairman of the Smith Center board of directors. The "Boman Pavillion" at the Smith Center is named for Boman in honor of his dedication to the project. He is also involved with the advisory council of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Nevada Ballet Theatre, the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and the Las Vegas Music Festival.

The idea for the Smith Center for the Performing Arts located in Las Vegas, Nevada began in 1994 and construction began in 2009. The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation donated a landmark gift of $50 million dollars and later donated an additional $150 million, one of the largest philanthropic donations in Nevada history. Materials were donated in 2019 by Keith Boman; accession number 2019-070
Processing Note
The collection was minimally processed by Chriziel Childers in 2019 at the time of accessioning. The materials were quickly reviewed to provide a general description of the contents of each box and an estimate of dates represented in the material. Loose papers were foldered. A promotional video was transferred off of one optical disc by Tammi Kim and converted to MP4 file format. No further work was performed on the materials.
