Abstract
The Morrison Family Photograph Collection (1917-1933) consists of black-and-white and color photographic prints, negatives, and slides. The images primarily depict the Morrison family in Las Vegas, Nevada and the surrounding areas. Images portray youth activities in Nevada, including a local Boy Scouts Troop, Las Vegas High School students, Clark County High School students, as well as student activities at the University of Nevada, Reno. Also included are images of scenes around Las Vegas, including Mount Charleston, Little Falls, and the Colorado River prior to the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam). Other images include Morrison family trips to California, Utah, Oregon, and Arizona.

Biographical / Historical Note
William Herbert Morrison was born in Indiana on April 30, 1880 to Letitia Jane Clinton and Ellery Herbert Morrison in Princeton, Indiana. He married Ella V. Princeton, and the couple had a son, Giles Morrison. The Morrison family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1917. William Morrison worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, until he began working for Basic Magnesium during World War II. He died on March 7, 1945 in Los Angeles, California.
Giles Morrison was born in 1903 in Indiana to William Herbert Morrison and Ella V. Princeton. He met and married his wife, Selma, in Fresno, California in 1929, while on assignment working for Union Pacific Railroad. After returning to Las Vegas, he started a dance band, and formed the first Boy Scout Troop in the city.
