Biographical / Historical Note

Director and producer Frederic Apcar was born in Paris and, by the age of 16, he was a chorus boy in the famed Folies Bergere. By the time he came to Vegas, he was 46 years old and a respected dancer and choreographer. He negotiated with the owner and producer of the Casino de Paris to license the first official show outside France. The show opened in December 1963 in a newly-built showroom at the Dunes Hotel.
