The records include scrapbooks, stationary, pins, applications, constitutions, business papers, invitation lists, rubber stamps, and charter inventories. The records also include descriptions of initiation procedures and signed initiation papers by students, faculty, and advisors.

Biographical / Historical Note

Phi Lambda Alpha is a Latin collegiate social fraternity that aims to "form companionships, cultivate university spirit, socially recreate and to give financial help to its members." The organization was formed on June 11, 1921 in New York City, New York and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas chapter of Phi Lambda Alpha was chartered in 1968.

In 2018, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Jimmy Chang revised the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards. In 2019, Joseph Puentes reboxed and added additional materials to the collection and updated information in ArchivesSpace.
