Abstract
The Q. B. Bush Papers are comprised of Q. B. Bush's personal papers dating from 1957 to 2018 and document Bush's work in Westside Las Vegas, Nevada casinos including the Moulin Rouge, Town Tavern, and the El Morocco. The collection also documents Bush's involvement with the Dealers Security Association and the association's effort to provide better working conditions for African American casino employees. Included are both original photographs and copies of photographs that document the African American casinos where Bush worked, as well as the Bush family at various events.

Biographical / Historical Note
Q. B. Bush, a dedicated member of the United States military, relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1954 after the Korean War because of his interest in gaming. Starting out as a porter at the Sands Hotel and Casino, Bush eventually went to dealer school and became a dealer at the Moulin Rouge. After the Moulin Rouge closed, Bush worked as a box man and a shift boss at the Town Tavern. He then became the casino manager at the El Morocco before opening his own dealer school in Las Vegas. Bush was born on May 7, 1931 in Fordyce, Bush married in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1957. During the 1960s and 1970s, Bush played an important role as a social advocate who fought for job growth, economic development, and equality for black workers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bush passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 29, 2019.
