Abstract

Oral history interview with Phyllis Friedman conducted by Barbara Tabach on March 02, 2015 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In this interview Friedman talks about first coming to Las Vegas, Nevada to work for the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas (now Jewish Nevada). Then she discusses what made the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) work unique and about ADL’s programming fighting cyberbullying. The interview finishes with her talking about work in addressing and combatting anti-Semitism and listing other influential Jewish organizations working in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Phyllis Friedman conducted by Barbara Tabach on March 02, 2015 for the Southern Nevada Jewish Heritage Project. In this interview Friedman talks about first coming to Las Vegas, Nevada to work for the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas (now Jewish Nevada). Then she discusses what made the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) unique; their school and law enforcement education programs; annual legal luncheon honoring local advocate for tolerance. She then talks about ADL office receiving Barrick Gold gift for education programs, ADL’s programming fighting cyberbullying, and the Bundy standoff with Bureau of Land Management. She also shares her thoughts about Las Vegas’ medical care quality and talks about satisfaction in working for ADL in Las Vegas. The interview finishes with her talking about work in addressing and combatting anti-Semitism and listing other influential Jewish organizations working in Las Vegas. She also mentions the lack of collaboration amongst Jewish community.
