Locations of the photographs include California, Massachusetts, Illinois, New York, and Michigan. Events include dinner parties, conventions, meetings, award ceremonies, and honorary banquets.

Biographical / Historical Note
The International Stewards Association was founded in 1901 as a national professional organization for stewards. The International Stewards Association merged with the Caterers Association in 1932 and the organization assumed the name International Stewards and Caterers Association. The organization again changed its name to Executive Stewards and Caterers Association in 1957 and adopted the final name International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA) in 1976. The IFSEA is a nonprofit professional organization that provides its members with educational courses and certification opportunities. IFSEA holds an annual convention and has partnered with the United States military since the 1960s.

- 1901
- Members of the Detroit, Michigan, Steward's Club (formed in 1900) met in Buffalo, New York for the purpose of organizing a national association.
- From this meeting the International Stewards Association (ISA) emerged.
- 1905
- The International Association was incorporated under the state laws of Illinois.
- 1911
- The ISA establishes the first Stewards Training School in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- 1915
- The Detroit Convention publishes a yearbook and the first history of the Association
- 1919
- The International President John R. Dignan of Chicago, Illinois sets the stage for a show billed by the Chicago newspapers "To be the greatest hotel exposition ever held." This is the forerunner of the event now held every year in Chicago by the National Restaurant Association.
- 1921
- The Association magazine was titled "International Steward" (renamed HOTLINE). Proposed constitutional amendments would permit women in ISA and establish a Death Benefit Fund for widows.
- 1927
- The Denver, Colorado branch urges the establishment of a catering industry school in every city where there is a branch of the Association.
- Thomas Phelps Jones, in the annual President's Message, calls for legislation to require all canned goods to be stamped with date of canning.
- A merger was proposed between the International Stewards Association and the American Caterers Association.
- 1932
- The merger was completed and the International Stewards and Caterers Association (IS&CA) was incorporated, again under the laws of the state of Illinios.
- 1937
- President William A. Hearman re-designed the Association emblem.
- 1942
- The Rochester Branch celebrated its third anniversary, honoring its founder, Peter Gust Economou.
- 1958
- The name was changed to the Executive Stewards and Caterers Association (IS&CA).
- 1960
- The name was changed to the Food Service Executives Association (FSEA).
- 1976
- The name was changed to the International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA).

Materials were donated beginning in 1989 by the International Food Service Executives Association; accession number 1989-032-B.
Processing Note
Material was processed by UNLV Special Collections staff. In 2014, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project, Hannah Robinson wrote the collection description and subsequently entered the data into ArchivesSpace. In 2019, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Jimmy Chang added new materials and revised the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards.
