Biographical / Historical Note

In 1935, the California-Nevada district of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod established a church in Las Vegas, Nevada, named the First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Located on South Maryland Parkway, the first service hosted over forty parishioners, and was originally called The First Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. In 1950, when a school was added to the property, the name was officially changed to First Good Shepherd.
