Abstract
The UNLV University Libraries Collection on International Lotteries is comprised of lottery tickets, advertisements, prize breakdowns and drawing schedules from around the world, dating from 1714 to 1979. A bulk of the materials come from the United States and Europe and are from the 1800s to the 1900s.

Scope and Contents Note
The UNLV University Libraries Collection on International Lotteries is comprised of lottery tickets, advertisements, prize breakdowns and drawing schedules from around the world. Included in the collection are three lottery tickets dated from 1714 to 1715 where the proceeds were intended to finance the cutting of a canal in Connecticut; an announcement of a lottery to be held for household goods in 18th century England; and several other lottery tickets and drawing schedules from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries from the United States and Europe. Also included in this collection is an undated deck of 25 cards called the Poker Hands printed in London, England, and an 1876 letter from the Postmaster General announcing a new law making it illegal to mail lottery information.
