Our proposal contemplates constructing the 24-inch line in three sections, and after testing each section to backfill the trench. If for any reason it is necessary to keep additional trench open' throughout the construction, the added cost of watchman service, / protection lights, and the additional cost of maintenance of temporary roadways and detours shall be added to the guaranteed y figure. 4. As set forth in our proposal of September 21st, excavating and backfilling of trenches is based upon dry excavation except in the immediate vicinity of the pump house site. If water is encountered in the excavation, this will require pumping, shoring and other unforeseen expense and will necessarily increase the cost of pipe laying and we will, therefore, expect to be paid , j actual cost for this portion of the work. Our fee included within the above guaranteed 5* maximum is $15*435*
