BEFORE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. STATE OF NEVADA) County of Clark) JOHN L. RUSSELL, being first duly sworn, on oath, deposes and says: That the above entitled matter has been set for trial April 28, 1941, at 10 A.M. That since and including April 21, 1941, affiant has served on the federal jury at said Las Vegas, wherefore, he has been unable to confer with his counsel and to make adequate preparations for said trial. That he advised the federal judge of said trial and requested to be excused from such jury service which request was denied, except that the said judge stated he might be excused April 28th only, and no longer, but that said trial cannot be concluded in one day. Wherefore, affiant requests that said trial be continued until after said jury service with a reasonable time thereafter to prepare for said trial. After considering said request on motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that in as much as Mayor Russell and his counsel have ask for a continuance of the trial of the Mayor, because Mayor Russell has been called for Federal Jury duty and that Att. Hinman stated he has not had sufficient time to contact witnesses he would like to call, and that the Board is willing to grant continuance so as not to cause the Mayor any inconvenience that the Board extend the time of the hearing until Thursday May 8th, at the hour of ten A.M. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, and Corradetti and Mayor Pro Tem Krause voting aye. Noes, none. Mayor Russell not voting. Mayor Russell and Counsel approved the date of hearing as of May 8th, 1941 at 10 A.M. No further business appearing before the Board the meeting adjourned. A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County Nevada, is hereby called to be held in the Board of commissioners Room in the City Clerk's Office, Monday the 28th day of April, 1941 at the hour of ten thirty o'clock A.M. on said day to consider and act upon the following: 1. To act and authorize construction of an access road from highway 91 to the Las Vegas Municipal Airport under W.P.A. Project No. 50074. April 28th, 1941 John L.
