In order to revive the energy that once existed among the synagogue professional and l a y leadership, we have decided to make a few changes: M i r a Slobody has spent too much time and energy running the Hebrew School over the past several years, so e f f e c t i v e March 1st, she will be ordained as a rabbi, thanks to her hard work on an i n t e r n e t y e s h i v a web site. She shall now serve as the s p i r i t u a l leader of M i d b a r Kodesh Temple, and asks to be referred to as ' M r s . Rabbi Mira." Rabbi Jeremy W i e d e r h o r n shall now be called "Bookkeeper W i e d e r h o r n . Cantor Welt refuses to t r a i n B'nai M i t z v a h students, but will show off his w e l l - t r a i n e d voice in a s p e c i a l cantorial concert on March m d . His top p r i o r i t y is to bring the Yiddish language back to life at Midbar. AS THE MONTH OF ADAR BEGINS, OUR JOY IS INCREASED No it is not April Fools', but better yet, it is the month of Adar. During this month, it is customary and appropriate to poke fun of each other and ourselves. The Purim shpiel spirit should permeate this entire month as we cele-brate life together. I hope you enjoyed this small effort, and I look forward to continuing to "increase the joy" with you. ~Rabbi Jeremy Wiederhorn mm mmmmJ Temple Beth Sholom is trying t o ^ k put together a history of our local Jewish heritage and the role that Beth Sholom has played in the 50 + years. Scrip www.escrip.com I want to thank all of you who have enrolled in the eScrip program. In the year 2000 we raised $634.29. The amount we have raised has increased each month. That is a result of your direct participation in the program. Please log on to escrip.com and enroll in the program. As you can see the Temple is really benefiting. If all our membership participated we could get the sanctuary built in no time. If you are unable to pay the $10 per year fee, please do not be embarrassed - contact the Synagogue and we will pay that fee for you. There are many stores participating in the escrip program and if you normally shop these places, the Temple can reap wonderful monetary benefits. I will be reporting to you each month in the newsletter. Should you have any questions about the program I can be reached at nj2lv1977@hotmail.com or you can call me at 458- 5174 in the evenings. If you are not an "Internet" user, you can pick up the form at the Temple office or you can call escrip directly to enroll. That number is (800) 592-0942. We are also enrolled in igive.com. I do not know how many of you have looked into this site, but they also have many participating stores. Go to the site and check it out. Until next month, this is your "dot.com chairperson" signing in!!
