1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 C O P Y R E S O L U T I O N WHEREASs the Las Vegas Land and Water Company has made a p p lic a tio n to the P u b lic Service Commission o f the State o f Nevada to amend and supplement Rule No. 9.5 o f the sa id P u b lic Service Commission Rules and R egu lation s; and WHEREASi i f s a id a p p lic a tio n o f the Las Vegas Land & Water Company i s granted, the sa id Company w i l l be perm itted and allo w ed to make no fu rth e r extensions o f i t s mains to provide water se rv ic e in the a re a s o f the City o f Las Vegas not served by the company subsequent to August 15, 1951, with c e rta in excep tion s; and WHEREAS, the fu tu re growth o f the City o f Las Vegas depends upoi an adequate w ater supply to a l l a re a s w ithin the City lim it s ; and WHEREAS, no s u ffic ie n t p ro o f has been shown to the P u b lic Servlo Commission th at there i s a w ater shortage in t h is v ic in it y o r that the w ater ta b le i s f a l l i n g a t an alarm ing r a t e ; and WHEREAS, the s a id a p p lic a t io n o f the s a id Las Vegas Land & Water Company asks f o r the g ran tin g o f s a id o rd e r a llo w in g and perm ittin g the s a id company to re fu se to extend i t s water se rv ic e s without a hearing on b e h a lf o f the c it iz e n s o f the C ity o f Las Vegas as to the n ecessity o f such o rd e r; and WHEREAS, the City o f Las Vegas f e e ls that th is order i f granted w i l l have a d etrim en tal e ffe c t on the fu tu re growth o f the City o f Las Vegas since such fu tu re growth depends on the adequacy o f a la r g e and w e ll e s ta b lis h e d water supply, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board o f C ity Commlssio ©re o f the City o f Las Vegas o b je c t to and p ro te st the gran tin g o f the s a id a p p lic a t io n by the Las Vegas Land & Water Company without having an opportunity to be heard In the m t t e r and without sa id Las Vegas Land & Water Company showing the n ecessity th e re fo re ; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, th at the Mayor Pro Tern and the City Gler be au th o rized to sign t h is R esolution and forw ard the same to the Publjj S ervice Commission o f Nevada.
