S im ilar conditions obtained on July 23, u n til the pumps cut o f f at 8:20 p.m, During most o f the day, we had 26 pounds pressure in the downtown area and when i t appeared that withdrawal from the Clark R eservoir would again cause the pumps to cut out b efo re the day was over, I suggested the pressure a t Clark R eservoir be decreased and as Charleston R eservoir was almost f u l l , Well N©*.8, or at le a s t a p ortion o f i t s production, could be d iverted to the Clark R eservoir, I was informed by the pumper on duty that w ith th e ir experience in the operation o f the water production f a c i l i t i e s i t was unnecessary f o r me to make suggestions. From past experience these pumpers should r e a liz e th at w ith only about 26" o f a v a ila b le water in the Clark R eservoir a t 1:30 p*m. and having lo s t considerably in excess o f 6 Inches per hour during the morning that the R eservoir pumps would cut out w ith in three or fou r hours unless steps were taken to reduce pressure or supplement the supply. As a re s u lt o f the u n sa tisfa ctory operation during the past three or fou r days a considerable p ortion o f the c it y was without water fo r sanitary or domestic purposes and pressure was in s u ffic ie n t to furnish water to coo lers during several hours o f each o f the above days. fhe C ity Commissioners at i t s meeting on July 23, c r it ic iz e d the Union P a c ific fo r inadequate s e rv ic e and the C ity Attorney was in stru cted to form erly request the Pu blic Service Commission o f Nevada to req u ire the Union P a c ific to immediately augment the supply o f water in the Las Yeg&s area* W, B, Johnson
