384 USE PERMIT - Josephson and Eachus CIVIL SERVICE Recommendations CONTRACT - Perliter and Soring Sewer Construction LIQUOR LICENSE Frank Levi Denied ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-16 Extension of Time of completion PROPOSED ORDINANCE Curfew PROPOSED ORDINANCE Liquor PARK MANOR SUBDIVISION Release of Bonds NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that George and Bernadine Young be granted a Variance to construct and maintain a single family residence in addition to two single family residences at 1925 West Charleston, be and the same hereby is approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. The application of E.L. Josephson and V.D. Eachus for a Use Permit to construct and maintain a resort hotel of one hundred or more rooms to be located on the northeast comer of Harrison and "I" Streets was considered at this time. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the application for Use Permit be approved and the following resolution adopted: R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, on the 6th day of May, 1953, E.L. Josephson and V.D. Eachus filed an application with the Regional Planning Commission for a Use Permit to construct and maintain a resort hotel of one hundred or more rooms to be located on the northeast corner of Harrison and "I" Streets in the SW¼ SE¼ SE¼ Section 21, T 20 S, R 61 E, MDB&M, which will include the operation of a cabaret and casino; and WHEREAS, on May 14, 1953, the Regional Planning Commission voted to approve the application subject to the condition that adequate off-street parking be provided; and WHEREAS, such decision was filed with the Board of Commissioners on May 18, 1953, recommending that such Use Permit be approved. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the recommendation of the Regional Planning Commission that the application of E.L. Josephson and V.D. Eachus to construct and maintain a resort hotel of one hundred or more rooms, to be located on the northeast comer of Harrison and "I" Streets, be approved subject to the condition that adequate off-street parking be provided, be and the same hereby is approved. Commissioner Jarrett moved the recommendations from the Civil Service Trustees concerning the creation of new classifications of "Cashier-Clerk" and Senior Account Clerk" be held in abeyance. Action on the contract with Perliter and Soring for sewer construction was held in abeyance. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Frank Levi, Economy Ice and Fuel, 422 W. Jefferson, previously granted on May 6, 1953 subject to investigation by the Police Department, be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Jarrett moved the request of Young and Smith Construction Company for extension of time for the completion of Assessment District No. 100-16 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Peccole and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the curfew ordinance requested additional time before reporting.
