BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 7th day of March, 1956, having considered the application of the Southern Nevada Power Company for a use permit to install an electric power substation on Lots 11 through 13 of Block 5, Clark's Las Vegas Townsite; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment approving this application subject to compliance with the architectural sketches submitted and all known devices to reduce the safety hazards; NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of the Southern Nevada Power Company for a use permit to install an electric power substation on Lots 11 through 13 of Block 5, Clark's Las Vegas Townside be and the same hereby is approved subject to the conditions set forth by the Board of Adjustment Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp stated that the Southern Nevada Power Company is a client of his, and passed his vote. Consideration was given to the application of Robert Bigelow for a use permit to construct a bulk storage petroleum plant on a portion of Section 4, T21S, R6lE, MDB&M. This application which will permit the moving of the Union Oil Company bulk plant from the 300 block on South Main to this location on Industrial Road and San Francisco Avenue, was approved by the Board of Adjustment subject to the installation of all off-site improvements. Commissioner Bunker moved the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment be accepted and the following resolution adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 7th day of March, 1956, having considered the application of Robert Bigelow for a use permit to construct a bulk storage petroleum plant on a portion of Section 4, T21S, R6lE, MDB&M; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment approving this application subject to the installation of all off-site improvements; NOW, THEREFORE it is the decision of this Board that the application of Robert Bigelow for a use permit to construct a bulk storage petroleum plant on a portion of Section 4 T21S, R6lE, MDB&M be and the same hereby is approved subject to the conditions set forth by the Board of Adjustment Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The Commission considered the application of the First Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for variance to construct an addition to an existing church , with the structure designed in a manner which required a variance from the open space requirements, on property described as Irregular Lots 1 through 10, Block 9; Pioneer Heights and Irregula Lots 1 through 5, Block 4, Ladd's Addition, known as 301 Maryland Parkway. The Board of Adjustment approved this application subject to an eight foot setback on the side yard and the installation of all offSite improvements. His Honor asked if there were any objections. None were voiced. Commissioner Bunker moved the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment be accepted and the following resolution adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, in a regular meeting on the 7th day of March, 1956, having considered the application of the First Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for variance to construct an addition to an existing church on Irregular Lots 1 through 10, Block 9; Pioneer Heights and Irregular Lots 1 through 5, Block 4, Ladd's Addition; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment approving this application subject to an eight foot setback on the side yard and the installation of all off-site improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of the First Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd for variance be and the same hereby is approved subject to the conditions wet forth by the Board of Adjustment. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp stated that his firm is the architect for this project and passed his vote. Commissioner Sharp moved the petition filed by the Las Vegas Union School District and Morris and Eva Kasper for annexation of the NE¼ of the SW¼ of Section 22, T20S, R6lE, MDB&M be approved and the City Attorney authorized to prepare the necessary ordinance. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the tentative map of Lulu C Subdivision be approved subject to the installation of improvements.
