No further business appearing before the Board at this time on motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that this meeting recess until Saturday the 16th day of December 1939 at the hour of nine o'clock A.M. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye Noes, none. There upon said meeting recessed to Saturday the 16th day of December, 1939 at the hour of nine o'clock A.M OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA DECEMBER 16th, 1939 Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 16th day of December, 1939 at the hour of nine o'clock A.M. Present Mayor Russell, Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti City Attorney and Clerk. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that warrants Nos. 270 to 273 inclusive allowed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that the claim of George R. Watters in the sum of $242.70 be allowed. This claim covering work in connection with radio interference work. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. The tabulation of bids received on December 12th for the purchase of tires, eight in number were reviewed at this time and on motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that all bids be rejected and that the City readvertise for bids on first grade tires, intermediate and standard grades and that said bids be received until the hour of 10 A.M. December 19th, 1939. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. High Shamberger ap eared before the Board as a representative of the State Engineer's Office and explained to the Board the survey, about to be undertaken by his office, of wells in Clark County and ask that the services of Harry Jameson, a city employee, be given to help compile t is work. After some discussion on the matter Mr. Shmaberger was informed that the City might be able to make arrangements for the use of Mr. Jameson's services on wells located within the City. Murray Golden appeared before the Board and ask that the City set aside the sum of $1,000.00 in its budget for the year 1940 to be used in supporting the Las Vegas City Band. Mr. Golden was told that this matter would be given consideration at such time as the budget was prepared. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that the Board of Commissioner give to the Las Vegas White Christmas Tree Fund the sum of $100.00 from the unappropriated surplus. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Corradetti it was moved and carried that Dr. W.S. Park be appointed Supervisor for the City, to work in conjunction with the W.P.A. on the construction of the Municipal Golf Course known as W.P.A. Project No. 442. compensation being paid to Dr. Park. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved and carried that the bid of the Las Vegas Review for the printing of 5,000 City Licenses be accepted. Price $42.70. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the bid of the nevada Electric Co. for the purchase of a Westinghouse Electric Refrigerator be accepted. Bid price $123.75. This equipment to be used in the office of the Milk Inspector. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. Bids for the purchase of a portable pump were opened, and on motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Gilbert it was moved that these bids be handed the purchasing clerk for tabulation and report at the next meeting. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes, none. Bids having been called for the purchase of trucks for the City and same being in the hands of the Clerk same were opened at this time and after some discussion and consideration on motion of Commissioner Gilbert seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City purchase from the Community Chevrolet Co. one truck costing $1,207.20, from James Cashman one GMC Truck costing $1,425.12 and from Hogan and Westlake one Dodge Truck costing $1,381.75. Vote Commissioners Ronnow, Gilbert, Krause and Corradetti and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. noes, none.
